Mark Schibler DDS, MD

Dr. Schibler grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, before moving to Cincinnati and attending Sycamore High School. After college, his passion for travel and lifelong fascination with the natural world led him to Guatemala where he lived and spent time interpreting for medical missions. He became interested in healthcare as he witnessed the tremendous impact of the relationships between patients and physicians.

Education

Dr. Schibler attended The Ohio State University for both his undergraduate studies and dental school. He served as president of the College of Dentistry Student Government Association and received the College’s highest honor, the prestigious Veler scholarship, in recognition of outstanding academic achievement and community service. Drawn by its artistry and complex problem solving, he decided to pursue a career in the dynamic field of oral and facial surgery. Dr. Schibler earned his medical degree and completed his residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, one of the top programs in the country. At UAB, Dr. Schibler benefitted from comprehensive training in general anesthesia, dental implants, extractions, bone grafting, jaw reconstruction, and treatment of facial trauma, as well as benign and malignant pathologies.

Research and Certifications

With research interests that span a wide range of topics including orthognathic surgery, sleep apnea surgery, and mandibular distraction osteogenesis, Dr. Schibler has published articles in both national and international journals. He maintains certification in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. He is a proud member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association and the Cincinnati Dental Society.

Hobbies and Interests

Outside the office, Dr. Schibler enjoys traveling, cooking, skiing, sketching, reading, horticulture, falconry, basketball, volleyball, Buckeye football, and exploring Cincinnati. Most of all, he enjoys adventuring with his wife, Shelly, and their two sons.
